Stillwater, MN
St. Croix River Mile 23 .
Stillwater is a great river town. As one of the few towns that have made the best of their river front property they really know how to cater to a boaters party lifestyle. With over a dozen bars, most with great food not more then a couple of blocks from the river. P.D. Pappy's my favorite Stillwater hang out. It is a mix between Boater & Biker Bar, a must go Stillwater pub.
You have 3 options for .getting to shore.
One is the Free City Dock. This dock is located right next to P.D. Pappy's and is between the Stillwater Yacht Club Gas Dock and the South most Yacht Club Slips. This dock is well protected from the weather however, there is only room for at most 3 boats. On a busy weekend don't even bother.
Option two is to tie up against the wall. If you choose this option bring enough fenders to protect your boat as the wall is made of rough concrete. Also when approaching the wall proceed with caution as it can get really shallow. Note: Mooring on the wall is not allowed during Lumberjack Days.
Option three is to use the pay dock just south of the bridge located at the Paddle boat landing around mile 23.2 they charge $5.00 per hour and have over-night slips also at a special rate. You can reach them on channel 16.
